Philmac PUSH is Philmac's push-fit connection system for metric polyethylene (PE) pressure pipe. Cut the pipe square, push it into the pre-assembled fitting until you feel it reach the internal stop, and the joint is sealed and gripped – no tools, no tightening, no chamfering, no lubricant.

The complete range covers joiners, reducing joiners, tees, reducing tees, female tees, male and female end connectors, 90° elbows, male and female elbows and end caps, in 20, 25, 32, 40, 50 and 63mm. How It Works

Push. Stop. Done.

Philmac PUSH is a push compression fitting. Every fitting is supplied pre-assembled, in the open position with the nut against the flange, so there is nothing to loosen or remove before use.

Push

The pipe passes through the split collet, grip ring and O-ring, which sit in a relaxed state with engineered internal clearance, so insertion force is low.

Stop

The pipe contacts the internal end stop — the positive feedback that tells you it's home.

Done

The reverse-taper collet and grip ring lock the pipe into the body against axial end-load, while the EPDM seal is radially compressed to form the watertight joint.

Components: nut and body — polypropylene; split collet, grip ring and spacer — acetal; seal — EPDM. The black body minimises light transmission and UV degradation, so fittings can be used above ground without additional protection.

Push vs. thermofusion. Of the three PE joining methods — mechanical, push and thermofusion — Philmac PUSH offers lower insertion force, quicker and therefore more economical installation, the ability to disassemble and reuse, and positive depth feedback at the end stop. It complements Philmac's standard compression ranges rather than replacing them: both can be used on the same PE system.

Installation

Three Steps in the Field

  1. Cut the pipe square to the required length, using the flange on the central body as a guide. Make sure the pipe end is clean and undamaged.
  2. The fitting is pre-assembled — no parts to remove.
  3. Push the pipe in until you feel it hit the internal stop after it passes the O-ring. It's now fully installed.
  4. Pressure-test to your site requirements. If alignment needs adjusting, loosen the nut, remove the pipe and reinstall — the only tool you might need is a standard wrench.
Loosen the nut; all components come free and the pipe can be removed. To rebuild: O-ring into the body, then spacer, then grip ring with the gripper teeth pointing down, then split ring on top with the taper facing up. Refit the nut, hand-tighten until it meets the flange, and the fitting is ready for reuse.

Application Notice

Philmac PUSH fittings are designed for connecting metric pressure polyethylene pipe. They are not suitable for compressed air applications, or for positive displacement pumps where the line pressure drops to zero between cycles. For those applications Philmac recommends Philmac EasyLOK fittings.
