PHILMAC PUSH METRIC REDUCING JOINER PE x PE
Step metric PE pipe down a size – tool-free, no chamfer, no lube.
When a PE main steps down to a smaller lateral, the Philmac PUSH Metric Reducing Joiner makes the transition in one push. Each end is sized for a different metric PE pipe – 25×20, 32×20, 32×25 or 63×32 – so you can reduce pipe diameter without adaptors, bushes or tools.
Both ends work exactly like the equal joiner. Cut each pipe square, push it home to the internal stop and the acetal grip ring and EPDM seal engage. No chamfering, no lubricant, no tightening. Push. Done.
The reducing joiner is a priority line for irrigation installers, where mains, sub-mains and laterals change size constantly, and it is just as useful in plumbing water services and rural pipelines. It is WaterMark certified, pressure rated up to PN16, approved for drinking water contact and Australian Made.
Should a run need re-routing, loosen the nut, disassemble and reuse the fitting – no components are damaged in the process.
Key features & benefits
- Two PE sizes, one fitting – reduce from 25 to 20, 32 to 20, 32 to 25 or 63 to 32mm with no extra adaptors.
- Tool-free at both ends – no wrenches, no tightening; just cut square and push.
- No pipe preparation – no chamfer, no lubrication.
- Positive stop feedback at each end confirms full insertion.
- Reverse-taper grip – split collet and grip ring lock the pipe with axial end-load resistance; EPDM O-ring seals radially.
- Reusable – disassemble and reassemble when alignment or layout changes.
- UV-stabilised black polypropylene for above- or below-ground service in Australian conditions.
- Certified – WaterMark, AS/NZS 4129, AS/NZS 4020, lead-free to NCC Volume 3, Australian Made.
Applications
- Stepping down from irrigation mains and sub-mains to laterals in landscape, turf and agricultural systems
- Reducing pipe size along plumbing water services and rural water lines
- Civil and utility pipelines where line size changes
- Repairs and modifications where a different pipe size is being tied into an existing PE run
Application notice
Philmac PUSH fittings are designed for connecting metric pressure polyethylene pipe. They are not suitable for compressed air applications, or for positive displacement pumps where the line pressure drops to zero between cycles. For those applications Philmac recommends Philmac EasyLOK fittings.
FAQs
Which pipe sizes can I reduce between? 25 to 20mm, 32 to 20mm, 32 to 25mm and 63 to 32mm metric PE. For equal-size joins use the Philmac PUSH Metric Joiner.
Do both ends install the same way? Yes. Each end is a Philmac PUSH connection – cut the pipe square, push to the internal stop and feel it seat. No tools or preparation on either end.
Is the reducing joiner reusable? Yes. Loosen the nut, remove the pipe and reassemble the components in sequence; the fitting is ready to use again.
Can it be buried? Yes. The range is suitable for above- and below-ground installation and has been validated in long-term underground field trials across Australia.
Is it WaterMark certified and safe for drinking water? Yes. Philmac PUSH is WaterMark certified, conforms to AS/NZS 4020 for products in contact with drinking water and meets the lead-free requirements of NCC Volume 3.
