The Philmac PUSH Metric Joiner is the straight, equal-size connector at the heart of the Philmac PUSH range – and the fitting most PE pipe installations use more than any other. It joins two lengths of the same-size metric PE pipe, extends a run or repairs a damaged section, without tools, tightening, chamfering or lubricant.

Cut the pipe square, push it into the pre-assembled fitting and you’ll feel it reach the internal end stop once it passes the O-ring. That tactile feedback tells you the EPDM seal and acetal grip ring have engaged. Push. Done.

Available in 20, 25, 32, 40, 50 and 63mm, the joiner suits metric PE pressure pipe to AS/NZS 4130 across plumbing, irrigation, rural water and civil work. It is WaterMark certified for regulated plumbing, pressure rated up to PN16, approved for drinking water and – like the whole range – designed and made in Australia by Philmac.

Because the nut can be loosened and the fitting fully disassembled and reassembled, the joiner also gives you a second chance on site: correct alignment, inspect a joint or re-use the fitting when a line is reconfigured.

Application notice

Philmac PUSH fittings are designed for connecting metric pressure polyethylene pipe. They are not suitable for compressed air applications, or for positive displacement pumps where the line pressure drops to zero between cycles. For those applications Philmac recommends Philmac EasyLOK fittings.

FAQs

Do I need to chamfer or lubricate the pipe before using a Philmac PUSH joiner? No. The joiner accepts a clean, square-cut pipe end. No chamfering, no lubrication and no other pipe preparation is required.

How do I know the pipe is fully inserted? You’ll feel the pipe hit the internal end stop once it pushes past the O-ring. That feedback confirms the seal and grip have engaged.

Can the joiner be taken apart and reused? Yes. Loosen the nut and the components release so the pipe can be removed. Reassemble in the Installation sequence above and the fitting is ready to use again.

What pipe does it fit? Metric polyethylene pressure pipe manufactured to AS/NZS 4130, in 20, 25, 32, 40, 50 or 63mm.

Can I use Philmac PUSH joiners alongside standard compression fittings? Yes. Philmac PUSH complements Philmac’s compression ranges on the same PE system – choose PUSH where speed and access matter most.

Is it suitable for buried and exposed installations? Yes. The UV-stabilised black polypropylene body is suitable for continuous above-ground use without additional protection, and the range has been field-tested in long-term underground trials across Australia.
