The Philmac PUSH Metric Female Elbow combines a 90° change of direction with a female BSP thread, connecting metric PE pipe to a male-threaded riser, valve or fitting at a corner. Where a PE service turns and terminates at threaded equipment, one female elbow does the work of an elbow and a female adaptor – with a single tool-free push-fit joint.

Cut the PE pipe square, push it to the internal end stop and feel it seat. No chamfering, no lubricant, no tightening. The female thread conforms to ISO 7.1 for pressure-tight threaded joints, and eight sizes span 20mm x ½” through 50mm x 2″.

Female threaded elbows are part of Philmac’s recommended elbow range for plumbing, irrigation and water-transfer systems. The fitting is WaterMark certified for regulated plumbing, pressure rated up to PN16, approved for drinking water to AS/NZS 4020 and Australian Made. Disassemble and reassemble the PE end to adjust alignment or reuse the fitting.

Sizes 32mm and above have a stainless steel reinforcement collar on the female BSP thread for added strength.

Application notice

Philmac PUSH fittings are designed for connecting metric pressure polyethylene pipe. They are not suitable for compressed air applications, or for positive displacement pumps where the line pressure drops to zero between cycles. For those applications Philmac recommends Philmac EasyLOK fittings.

FAQs

What connects to the female thread? A male BSP threaded component – riser, valve or fitting – in the matching size from ½” to 2″.

Is installation tool-free? The PE end is: push the square-cut pipe to the internal stop. A standard wrench is only needed if you loosen the nut to disassemble.

Can I realign the elbow after the pipe is installed? Yes. Loosen the nut, withdraw the pipe, adjust and reinstall. Components are not damaged by disassembly.

Is it approved for drinking water? Yes. Philmac PUSH is WaterMark certified, conforms to AS/NZS 4020 and meets the lead-free requirements of NCC Volume 3.
