The Apex Big Boy Diaphragm Reservoir Valve is built for larger storage tanks and reservoirs where a standard float valve may not deliver enough flow. The valve is designed to maintain minimum and maximum water levels in a tank or reservoir and can be used in pump, mains or gravity feed applications.
A key benefit of the Apex Big Boy is its soft-closing diaphragm design, which helps reduce water hammer in higher-volume systems. It operates in a full-on / full-off manner and can be used for either single-level or variable water level control, depending on the installation. It is also used in rain harvesting systems as a back-up water supply control valve when demand exceeds available rainfall.
This range is available in three sizes. The BB-32 uses a 1 1/4 inch taper pipe thread, the BB-40 uses a 1 1/2 inch taper pipe thread, and the BB-50 uses a 2-inch taper pipe thread. The dimensional drawings for all three sizes show an overall body size of approximately 106mm x 209mm.
With flow rates of up to 1500 litres per minute at 1200 kPa, the Apex Big Boy is a strong choice for high-demand reservoir and tank filling applications where fast refill, reliable shut-off and high-volume inlet control are critical.
