The Apex PumpBuddy Long Tail is designed for tanks supplied by a pump, where improved water level control can improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary pump starts. While the official product name is PumpBuddy, many customers also search for Pump Buddy, and this product is built to do exactly that job, mechanically manage tank fill levels in higher volume pump-fed systems.

Unlike a basic float valve that simply shuts off at one set level, the Apex Pump Buddy works as a high-volume tank inlet control device that helps manage both minimum and maximum water levels inside the tank. This allows the pump to operate in a more efficient full-on / full-off cycle, which can help reduce short cycling, lower power use, and support longer pump life in the right setup.
