LOCTITE® 518 is a medium-strength, versatile gasketing product with excellent contamination tolerance. It’s ideal for use on cast iron, steel, and aluminum flanges.
LOCTITE® 518 cures in the absence of air when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces. This anaerobic gasketing material is designed for rigid iron, aluminum, and steel flanged mating surfaces. It fills gaps up to 0.25mm, forming a flexible, chemical-resistant seal that won’t tear or decay. Parts can be easily disassembled even after long periods of use. Common applications include sealing close-fitting joints between rigid metal faces and flanges, and forming in-place gaskets on rigid flanged connections like transmissions and motor housings.
