Pressure Fittings that meet Australian Standards & Conditions
Our PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) Pressure Pipe Fittings not only meet the standards of AS/NZS 1477 but also exceed those high standards, made to ASTM D1785 guidelines. PVC has excellent resistance to abrasion due to their low elastic modulus and coefficient of friction, which helps prevent surface abrasion. While materials like PTFE, Nylon, and Polyurethanes are known for their low friction, PVC offers good abrasion resistance at a lower cost. PVC's ultimate strength remains relatively stable with age, and its short-term tensile strength may even increase slightly. It's worth noting that PVC isn't significantly weakened over time, contrary to some materials.

- • PVC-U (unplasticised) is stiff and tough, resistant to most chemicals, and can handle temperatures up to 60°C.
- • PVC-M (modified) is also rigid but tougher, with slightly lower strength.
- • PVC (plasticised) is less stiff but has high impact strength and can be easily shaped, though it's not as resistant to chemicals.
- • PVC-C (chlorinated) is similar to PVC-U but can withstand higher temperatures, up to 95°C.
- • PVC-O (Oriented PVC) is incredibly strong, with tensile strength up to double that of PVC-U, achieved through a special manufacturing process.
